Last week, I did some quick study sketches of some birds at the beach and this week I was able to do some near Fisherman’s Wharf. As a bird watcher it is intriguing to observe birds in motion. They look so content gliding with the wind and flying in their various formations. At first glance they look almost like carbon copies of each other. However, as you observe them more closely they have their own distinct markings and mannerisms. Introspectively they are such a metaphor for life.
Studying them is both meditative as well as artistically inspiring. Maybe one of these sketches will be the inspiration for a new painting. Updated images are of few of the paintings in my ongoing nature series. Some of which are getting close to completion adding to my own personal creative motivation.
