Art Journal

I had the most amazing weekend and feel so rejuvenated to paint.  During my trip I was able to experience something absolutely amazing. While I was meditating a hummingbird hovered less than 2 feet away from me.  I couldn’t help but stop meditating and stare. Luckily for me she came back several times and hovered around a aloe plant blossom. I was able to get a compositional sketch and color swatch done for a future painting. I have sketched hummingbirds before but I have never had one come back to the exact same  spot over and over again. WOW!

As far as painting goes I am close to finishing up several paintings and have also had the chance to work on some of my Canadian Geese paintings. This slide show is of one oil painting and its progression over the past week.
