☮️Peace, My Friday vibe! ☮️

Feeling philosophical! I have a desire for lasting, real peace that frees us from prejudice. Is the world ready to make a clear choice once for all, between prejudice and peace?

It’s seems daily, I see forces that support war – authoritarianism, nationalism, racism, populism, and protectionism and it feels disheartening.

However, if we open our eyes to both compassion and love we will see that unite us all as a single family on this planet.

My hope is that humanity will continue to grow with compassion.
🙏🌎☮️

Sending love and good vibes out into the world.🌈

I have learned so much from the teachings of Ram Dass. Who spoke about our collective consciousness and loving awareness.

This mantra is such a powerful heart opener. “I am loving awareness. Loving awareness is the soul. I am loving awareness. I am aware of everything, I’m aware of my body and my senses and my mind, I’m aware of all of it, but I notice that I’m loving all of it. I’m loving all of the world. The self that I identify with emanates from the ocean of love. The self that is the ego is the ocean of fear."

This mantra was the text used in the under layer of this artwork tilted: “I AM AWARENESS”, mixed media (pencil, stencil, acrylic and spray paint on wood panel) , 36” x 36”

Priestess of Soul Often, when I feel my energy bl

Priestess of Soul

Often, when I feel my energy blocked or feel disconnected from my emotions, I listen to music. It provides the avenue I need to deeply connect to my inner being and my art. There is one musician who I have been listening to since my teen years the Priestess of Soul, Nina Simone. The title of this painting is from music lyrics from the song "Feeling Good" written by British songwriters Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse.

Nina's version of the song was released during the 1950’s civil rights protests and the movement’s desire for freedom. You can feel the honesty and connection to the lyrics in her deep rich tenor. Although, I have heard many versions of this song, even intertwined in electronic remixes, Nina's original version buries itself deep within my heart.
