My posts are toggling back and forth these days with Figurative and Abstracted work. All I can say to that is that I am on this wild upswing and connecting to my truth as a painter.
The inspiration to create this painting all began with putting my daughters to bed. Part of their bedtime routine is to listen to music with either me singing completely off tune or listening to a selected list of songs. We were listening to “Imagine” written by #JohnLennon and I was telling my girls that this is one of my favorite songs. The following morning my oldest started singing it to me. The beauty of her singing as well as the beauty behind the lyrics burrowed deep into my heart. That morning in the studio I started working on this #painting. “Imagine”, 20 x 20″, Acrylic on Canvas, 2018. Just imagine a world at peace without the barriers of borders, divisions of religion or nationality.
