I feel so blessed to have my painting “Brant Rock” chosen to be exhibited in the National Juried Art Show “Color” at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artist Coalition. The juror for this exhibition is Marcela Guerrero, Assistant Curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
“In visual perception a color is almost never seen as it really is—as it physically is. This fact makes color the most relative medium in art. In order to use color effectively it is necessary to recognize that color deceives continually. Color is “passive,” “deceptive,” and “unstable,” color behaves, color is magic.” – Joseph Albers, Interaction of Color
BWAC Show Curators: Katrina D. Jeffries and Alicia Degener
Gallery Exhibition Dates: July 28 – August 19, 2018 weekends 1-6PM Opening Reception: Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 1-6PM
I am about to embark on a 21 day abstract painting project. I’m already in the habit of painting daily but I am going to see what I can produce on 21, 5 x 5″ panels during this time frame. These little abstract paintings will be posted daily on my Instagram feed and then be available on my new online shop.
Did you know that the common myth that it takes 21 days to form a new habit was from a misquoted saying by Maxwell Maltz? He actually said “a minimum of about 21 days” and the saying got changed to “It takes 21 days to form a new habit”.
I feel so blessed to have my abstract painting, Imagine, chosen for Make Your Mark – Summer National Juried Exhibition at the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). Exhibition opens Saturday, June 16, and runs through Sunday, July 29, 2018.
The Juror for this exhibit is Jen Tough. (text from MOCA website)
