Snapshots of LA Exhibition

The weather in LA was fabulous and the quality of the art work in the museums I visited was breath taking. A highlight of mine at the Getty was the sculpture garden to the right of the tram before traveling up to the main campus. Unfortunately, during this visit I did not make it to the MOCA but did get to visit LACMA. I was not disappointed with my choice. LACMA  has an entire room dedicated to German Expressionism. The image of the sculpture grouping was a cellphone snapshot I took at LACMA. This is definitely a gem and a must see if you are in LA. The contemporary artworks there are just amazing.

The exhibition at Gallery 825 was a blast. The exhibition was so well attended that it was challenging just to view all the artwork being exhibited.

I found out last week that my work was chosen for “Momentum” the  2012 National WCA Exhibition at Gallery 825 in Los Angeles, CA.

“The show is commemorating 40 years of the Women’s Caucus for Art, “Momentum” presents the art and ideas of intergenerational contemporary women artists. Moving forward and yet still in touch with our roots; the exhibition celebrates what has influenced the artists looking back over the past 40 years of women in the arts, reflecting on struggles and accomplishments and how this inspires their momentum, moving ahead.”

The exhibition date is  February 17 – March 2, 2012 and the opening reception is Friday, February 24, 2012, 6 to 9pm.

I also signed the lease for my new studio space. This past weekend I started getting organized for the move. My plan as it stands now is to alternate between moving, packing and painting.

These images are works in-progress.
