In the artwork is the beginning text translated in english from the Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu a Sanskrit mantra.

The text in quotations is what was captured in the underlayer. However, the entire mantra is so power when recited as a whole.

“May all beings everywhere be happy and free” from suffering. May the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.

This mantra is a beautiful and powerful way to connect with our inner selves, with each other, and with the world around us.

It is a reminder that we are not alone, and that there is always hope for a better future.

This week , during my artist talk I had the opport

This week , during my artist talk I had the opportunity to share my thoughts about this painting.

Often, when I feel my energy blocked or feel disconnected from my emotions, I listen to music. It provides the avenue I need to deeply connect to my inner being and my art. There is one musician who I have been listening to since my teen years the Priestess of Soul, Nina Simone. The title of this painting is from music lyrics from the song "Feeling Good" written by British songwriters Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse.

Nina's version of the song was released during the 1950’s civil rights protests and the movement’s desire for freedom. You can feel the honesty and connection to the lyrics in her deep rich tenor. Although, I have heard many versions of this song, even intertwined in electronic remixes, Nina's original version buries itself deep within my heart.

⭐️ I'm so grateful for the opportunity to follow my calling and share my art with the world.

My super fans attended my event! They were so excited to attend my artist reception last night. Before we left, my oldest child turned to me and said, "Mom, it's so cool that you're an artist and we get to go to your events." I was so touched by this comment. It's a blessing to have such a supportive family.

Balancing parenthood and art can be challenging, but it's also incredibly rewarding. During the pandemic, I had to find new ways to create art and connect with my audience. I started doing online workshops and livestreams, and I even started sharing my thoughts on art and parenting. These new experiences helped me to grow as an artist and as a parent.

Here are some tips for balancing parenthood and art. Yes, it is possible!

⭐️ Find a routine that works for you and your family. This may mean creating art in the early morning hours, after the kids go to bed, or on weekends.

⭐️ Be flexible. Things don't always go according to plan, so be prepared to adjust your schedule as needed.

⭐️ Ask for help from your partner, friends, or family members. Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it.

⭐️ Don't be afraid to experiment. There are no rules when it comes to balancing parenthood and art. Find what works for you and your family.

Balancing parenthood and art is not always easy, but it is possible. With a little planning and flexibility, you can find a way to do both.
