“Grateful for the Rain”, 48″x48″, Oil on Canvas (Work in Progress)

“Grateful for the Rain”, 48″x48″, Oil on Canvas (Work in Progress)

Working away in my studio and getting closer to finishing “Grateful for the Rain”, 48″x48″, oil paint on canvas. The title as well as the piece started to develop after listening to a NPR pod cast over the challenges the state of California has with water. After listening to that talk, I was in my studio and the story slipped into my subconscious and this painting started to unfold into a piece about having gratitude for the rain. The three feathers represent gratitude for the past, present and future.
