Gratitude

I’m sure you have heard the phrase “Attitude of Gratitude”. Attitude is what influences all our actions. Gratitude means thanks and appreciation. Gratitude is the biggest, most amazing tool you have to connecting to intention. So putting them together is an amazing source of creative power. Having an attitude of gratitude means you operate from a place of abundance, rather than scarcity. When you develop an attitude of gratitude you feel happier and more positive. So, when you go about your day today think about consciously expressing thankfulness and appreciation for every part of your life.

I’m an artist not a Dr but there is something I

I’m an artist not a Dr but there is something I make a lot during the cooler month: elderberry syrup. Elderberries naturally have vitamins A, B, and C and stimulate the immune system. At my local health food store a small bottle is over $15 and it lasts only a couple of weeks. So, over the years I’ve taught myself how to make it. It’s so easy! I add more ginger than the recipe below. It’s my go to; keep my family healthy; recipe.

INGREDIENTS

3½ cups water
⅔ cup dried elderberries (or 1 1/3 cups fresh or frozen)
2 TBSP ginger (grated)
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp ground cloves
1 cup raw honey

INSTRUCTIONS

Pour the water into a medium saucepan and add the elderberries, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
Bring to a boil and then uncover and reduce to a simmer for about 30 to 45 minutes until the liquid has reduced by almost half.
Remove from heat and let cool until it’s lukewarm.

Mash the berries carefully using a spoon or other flat utensil.
Pour through a strainer or cheesecloth into a glass jar or bowl. Discard the elderberries.
When the liquid is no longer hot, add the cup of honey and stir well.
When the honey is well mixed into the elderberry mixture, pour the syrup into a mason jar or 16 ounce glass bottle of some kind.
Ta-da! You just made homemade elderberry syrup! Store in the fridge and take daily for its immune boosting properties. Some sources recommend taking only during the week and not on the weekends to boost immunity.

Gratitude

I’m sure you have heard the phrase “Attitude of Gratitude”. Attitude is what influences all our actions. Gratitude means thanks and appreciation. Gratitude is the biggest, most amazing tool you have to connecting to intention. So putting them together is an amazing source of creative power. I’m an artist not a Dr but there is something I make a lot during the cooler month: elderberry syrup. Elderberries naturally have vitamins A, B, and C and stimulate the immune system. At my local health food store a small bottle is over $15 and it lasts only a couple of weeks. So, over the years I’ve taught myself how to make it. It’s so easy! I add more ginger than the recipe below. It’s my go to; keep my family healthy; recipe.

INGREDIENTS

3½ cups water
⅔ cup dried elderberries (or 1 1/3 cups fresh or frozen)
2 TBSP ginger (grated)
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp ground cloves
1 cup raw honey

INSTRUCTIONS

Pour the water into a medium saucepan and add the elderberries, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
Bring to a boil and then uncover and reduce to a simmer for about 30 to 45 minutes until the liquid has reduced by almost half.
Remove from heat and let cool until it’s lukewarm.

Mash the berries carefully using a spoon or other flat utensil.

When the honey is well mixed into the elderberry mixture, pour the syrup into a mason jar or 16 ounce glass bottle of some kind.
Ta-da! You just made homemade elderberry syrup! Store in the fridge and take daily for its immune boosting properties. Some sources recommend taking only during the week and not on the weekends to boost immunity.
