Irony I am working on an 80" painting using the b

Irony

I am working on an 80" painting using the beauty found in nature as my inspiration. I can't help but think about the irony of creating a work of art about nature while 3.8 million hectares (9.4 million acres) have already been burned in Canada.

The wildfires in Canada have caused widespread air pollution, and the smoke has drifted down the east coast of the US. My town is currently rated as "very unhealthy”.

I cannot stop thinking about the people as well as wildlife that have been affected. Sending love to the people of Canada.

🌈 I enjoy broadway productions. One production is a classic for me, “Annie”. During the opening scene the lead actor sings “Tomorrow”. The lyrics are about hope which feels so poignant.

When I'm stuck a day

🧘‍♀️May All🧘‍♀️

In the artwork is the beginning text translated in english from the Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu a Sanskrit mantra.

The text in quotations is what was captured in the underlayer. However, the entire mantra is so power when recited as a whole.

“May all beings everywhere be happy and free” from suffering. May the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.

This mantra is a beautiful and powerful way to connect with our inner selves, with each other, and with the world around us.

It is a reminder that we are not alone, and that there is always hope for a better future.
