Grounded in Nature. Defined by Form.
Original Geometric Abstract Paintings
Shilo Ratner creates original geometric abstract paintings that translate natural systems into structured visual form. Her practice spans mountain paintings, coastal abstract paintings, and collages on paper, developed in her New Haven, CT studio.
These paintings use geometry and color as organizing systems, where composition is defined by spatial tension, edge, and structure. Rooted in observation of the natural world, each artwork is constructed as a resolved visual field designed for contemporary interiors and collectors.
Exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Selected by a Guggenheim curator.

Meet Shilo Ratner
Contemporary Abstract Artist
Working from my studio, I've built a practice around one idea, that geometric form and natural rhythm can coexist in a single mark. My geometric abstract paintings and works on paper are defined by clean lines, rhythm, and a connection to the natural world, created to bring structure, intention, and presence to modern interiors and private collections.
Each piece begins as a form of visual meditation. From large-scale paintings to intimate works on paper, my work invites a slower, more intentional way of seeing and a deeper awareness of form and space.
